Hennessey Venom GT Spyder

Two years ago Hennessey topped 270 mph to take the title of world’s fastest car, and you’d think they’d be satisfied with that. However, last month Hennessey headed to the Lemoore Naval Air Station to try and beat Bugatti’s convertible top speed record using the 13,500 foot runway. The Hennessey crew did just that, topping 265 mph, and I was there to capture the action. You can see the various outlets

We’ve all heard it before, defensive driving is essential for staying safe on the road.

But how often do we truly think about our driving habits and their potential consequences? In today’s fast-paced society, it’s easy to get caught up in distractions and rush from one destination to another without much thought about the dangers we face behind the wheel.

But when we practice defensive driving techniques, we can greatly reduce our risk of accidents and potentially save lives – including our own. Here’s how!

Car Control Systems

One core aspect of defensive driving is a deep understanding of car control systems. If you don’t know how to properly operate your vehicle, you’re more likely to experience a collision. There are many different systems that factor into car control, such as braking, acceleration, steering, and suspension. You can take advantage of a comprehensive defensive driving course in Melbourne that will teach you the ins and outs of your car’s control systems. Once you know how to maneuver your vehicle effectively, you’ll be able to navigate through dangerous situations with ease.

Anticipating Hazards

Anticipating hazards is another critical element of defensive driving. This proactive approach involves constantly scanning the environment for potential risks – long before they become imminent. It means looking ahead for erratic drivers, observing the behaviours of pedestrians, and being mindful of adverse weather conditions that can affect road safety.

Anticipating what other road users may do allows you to prepare and respond appropriately rather than reacting under pressure. To avoid accidents, always try to anticipate potential hazards and give yourself enough time to react.

Visual Blockers

Visual blockers are anything that obstructs your view while you’re driving. This could be a parked car, truck, or even something as simple as a bush along the side of the road. When these visual blockers impede your vision, they can make it challenging to see hazards ahead of time to respond appropriately.

To combat visual blockers, always maintain a safe following distance from the vehicle in front of you. Doing so will give you a clear view of the road ahead and allow you enough time to react if something were to happen.

Concerning Lines of Sight

As important as it is to be aware of visual blockers, it’s equally crucial to be mindful of your line of sight while driving. This means ensuring that your view isn’t obstructed by items inside your car, such as hanging air fresheners or decorations. These items may seem harmless, but they can significantly impact your ability to see and react to potential hazards. Learn from the best at www.myimprov.com/.

Make it a habit to regularly check and clear your line of sight before hitting the road. It only takes a few seconds but can make a huge difference in your driving safety.

Defensive driving is not merely a set of skills, but a mindset that must be cultivated by every conscientious driver. By understanding your vehicle’s control systems, anticipating hazards, managing visual blockers, and maintaining clear lines of sight, you can navigate the roads with confidence and security.

The greatest asset in any driving scenario is a proactive, alert, and prepared mind. Embrace the principles of defensive driving: it’s a powerful way to protect yourself, your passengers, and fellow road users.

2017 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTS

Aston Martin has released a new Vantage GTS model for 2017, combining the GT and S versions that were previously available. The car will only be available in the United States with 100 built, and will be the last V8-powered Vantage available until the new model arrives. I spent a few days with the car to create the official photography for the car, which has now been released. You can see the photos via some of the published stories below.
